The Court Calendar lists upcoming public hearings, trials, and other scheduled proceedings before the **San Andreas Judiciary**.

## Calendar Status

Court proceedings may be listed with one of the following statuses:

| Status        | Meaning                                                 |
| ------------- | ------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Scheduled** | The proceeding is currently expected to occur as listed |
| **Pending**   | The date or time has not yet been fully confirmed       |
| **Continued** | The proceeding has been postponed to another date       |
| **Cancelled** | The proceeding will no longer occur as scheduled        |
| **Completed** | The proceeding has concluded                            |

## Types of Proceedings

The Court Calendar may include:

* Arraignments;
* Pretrial hearings;
* Motion hearings;
* Criminal trials;
* Sentencing hearings;
* Appeals;
* Warrant hearings;
* Emergency hearings; and
* Other proceedings ordered by the Judiciary.

## Scheduling a Court Matter

Court matters may be scheduled by the Judiciary after a case, motion, petition, or other appropriate legal matter has been brought before the court.

When requesting a court date, the filing party should provide enough information for the court to identify the matter and determine what type of proceeding is required.

A scheduling request should generally include:

* Case name or involved parties;
* Type of proceeding requested;
* Reason for the hearing;
* Attorneys involved, when applicable;
* Estimated length of the proceeding;
* Known scheduling conflicts; and
* Any circumstances requiring expedited review.

  Submitting a scheduling request does not guarantee a particular date or time. The Judiciary retains authority over the scheduling of court proceedings.

## Continuances and Rescheduling

A scheduled proceeding may be continued or rescheduled when reasonably necessary.

Reasons may include:

* Attorney availability;
* Defendant availability;
* Material witness availability;
* Newly discovered evidence;
* Additional preparation time;
* Judicial scheduling conflicts;
* Emergencies;
* Technical issues; or
* Another substantial reason accepted by the court.

A party requesting a continuance should notify the court and opposing counsel as soon as reasonably possible.

## Failure to Appear

Persons ordered, summoned, or otherwise required to appear before the court are expected to attend their scheduled proceeding.

Failure to appear without reasonable justification may result in:

* Rescheduling of the proceeding;
* Issuance of a warrant;
* Contempt proceedings;
* The matter proceeding without the absent party when legally permitted; or
* Other lawful action ordered by the court.

  If you know that you cannot attend a scheduled proceeding, contact your attorney or the Judiciary as soon as possible rather than simply failing to appear.

## Public Access

Court proceedings should generally remain open to the public when appropriate.

Certain proceedings may be restricted, closed, or partially sealed when necessary to protect:

* Confidential information;
* Active investigations;
* Protected witnesses;
* Sensitive evidence;
* The safety of involved persons; or
* The integrity of the proceeding.

A restricted proceeding may still appear on the calendar without disclosing protected details.

## Time Zone

All court dates and times are listed according to the official time observed within the State of San Andreas unless otherwise specified.

Players are responsible for confirming the listed time before attending a scheduled proceeding.

## Archived Proceedings

Completed proceedings may be removed from the active calendar and retained separately when appropriate.
